Approach Photos -
(scenic views driving to the home)
Part of the incredible draw of this property is the
location, and the amazing scenery. Enjoying that scenery starts well
before you actually get to the property itself. The property is located
about 4 miles from downtown Hiawassee. You turn off Hwy 76 that runs
through town, and then head along the southern edge of Lake Chatuge, and then
you turn onto Fodder Creek Rd. - which is where we are starting the tour
below. Below is a standard scene along Fodder Creek as you drive the 3.5
miles towards Bald Mountain Campground.
See those mountains in the
distance - that is our ultimate destination! |

Above is a another standard scene you'll see. Very pretty housing
along the road - no trailer parks, chicken farms etc... Below is almost
directly across from the Campground Entrance. Below that is the approach
to the Campground, then a close up of entrance on left. |

Below we've made the turn into the campground, and we head straight.
We pass a parking area / lake on left (2 pics down), then a huge playfield on
right with more views (3 pics down), then a short stretch of Campers in the
campground area (4 pics down.) |

After heading through the main "Campground", we enter a short high density
suburb (next 3 photos) that runs a few hundred yards. |

At the top of the hill above, you hit a stop sign and turn left. Then
you hit the below photo. Pretty much what you see from here on out -
just pristine mountain beauty. In the winter, from the property & home,
you can barely make out any other homes. In the summer, you might as
well be a thousand miles from civilization as private and secluded as it
feels. I must admit that when we 1st visited, and drove through the
campground, we started to wonder what we were getting into: Some sort of high
density neighborhood? What scenic mountain privacy? Wait on it.
It's amazing what a few hundred yards over a mountain ridge can do to
completely shield you from the outside world. A very neat feature/aspect
however is the fact that civilization really is closebye. Gives a sort
of security feeling - without actually having to look at it :) That's
the Brasstown Bald range straight ahead below by the way. You've got a
good view of it from the knoll on the property (up to the right of us)
in this pic. |

If you click into "Exterior Photos" next, we continue where we left off -
at the driveway entrance heading up to the house. Driveway entrance is
to the right of this photo - I'm standing on the entry turn to get this photo. |
