| Main: |
Vaulted Great Room with
stone fireplace, Separate Dining
area & Kitchen open to Great Room, Large Laundry room and Pantry off kitchen
(very bright and cheerful with window); On one side of the home is the
Master Bedroom Suite with very large walk-in closet and Master Bath.
Across the house is a short hallway opening to 2 spacious bedrooms with a
central shared bath. All three bedrooms have bright windows on two walls,
and ceiling fans. The entire main level is very bright and airy, and
is laid out perfectly for comfortable single level living.
Dozens of representative photos below. |
| Terrace: |
Huge unfinished terrace
level connected to the Main via a staircase leading off of the great room.
Private entry door off the rear. Windows on rear overlooking the
woodlands. The terrace level is exactly the same size as the Main, and
is currently broken into 3 studded out sections -
1) Spacious Utility room that has the water heater and central heat pump,
and also loads of room for storage cabinets, shelving etc.
2) An unfinished bedroom/office and bath
area.
3) An absolutely HUGE area that is quite literally the size of a small
basketball court, and is supported only by ceiling joists - with no
intruding support columns.
This is the best built pre-finish terrace level I have seen. The wall
studs are well architectured, and thick insulation lines all exterior walls.
ALL piping, wiring and HVAC Ducts are are nestled up above the floor joists
- so finishing the ceilings and walls would be a snap even for an amateur.
You would have to do no rewiring, piping or duct work to finish the terrace
level. Dozens of representative
photos below. |
| Interior: |
Bright open plan. One
level living. Split bedroom plan for privacy. |
| Exterior: |
Covered front porch, deck
overlooking private back yard, seasonal mountain views. Both the exterior
paint and roof are in good condition. |
| Appliance: |
Dishwasher, Electric
range, Refrigerator, Electric Water Heater, Heat Pump, Central Air unit. |
| Floors: |
Wall-to-Wall carpet with
Hardwood entry. New Owners might want to replace the carpet, as it
is in rough condition. Linoleum in kitchen/laundry/pantry is in
excellent condition, as is the linoleum in both baths. |
| Terrain: |
Level lot and semi-circular driveway. Private and wooded.
Property begins to slope gently downward from the rear of the home,
although there is a nice level area just behind the house before it starts
to roll downward into the woods. |
| Views: |
Seasonal mountain views. Representative photo section at
bottom of this page. It is of note that some of these views could easily
be improved with vista pruning. |
| Neighborhood: |
Chestnut Oak Point is located in the
"Nature Valley" area of Big Canoe. Nature Valley is an enormous strip of
Greenspace, which Disharoon Creek runs through. A hiking / jeep trail runs
through the center, and a historic cabin / picnic area, 2 scenic waterfalls,
woodland meadows and several side streams/paths are along the trail. We have a
map below that gives the exact location within Big Canoe. |

| GENERAL COMMENTS: This home is probably one of the
rarest finds in Big Canoe - An excellent home with a very low price
point, and plenty of expansion possibilities. For a young family this would be perfect, and the home could grow
with you all the way till the kids went to college, and even into retirement.
The terrace level is a children's dream as it is, and would be great for indoor
biking, skateboarding, or just general kid activities. The back deck
could be expanded, or have a sunroom/screen porch added to expand the Main
level space. The potential for terrace level expansion is practically
limitless. I don't want to limit this to young family potential either -
because this would be the perfect layout for a downsizing retired couple, or
for use as a weekender retreat. A property like this really is a rare find in Big Canoe.
We have
approximately 77 photographs below, which should give excellent and
comprehensive visual representation of this property. If you like what
you see, please contact the owner and a
tour of the home will happily be arranged. (Contact info at top of page) |
