  • C DAVID's NOTE:  People that follow my website know I rarely make private comments on properties.  But I must say that this location impressed me. I'm very much a land person, very in tune with the ground so to speak.  When I went to photograph this lot, it had a very good feeling.  Lots of wildlife sounds.  There is a certain feel to "High Elevation Lots", and this one had it in spades. If you are looking for high elevation views in a private North Georgia Community, I think you have to put this lot on your list to look at.

Above we are approaching the end of the Cul-de-Sac on Bald Eagle Bend.  Below we've made it around about 1/2 way on the lower loop of the Cul-de-Sac.  Property begins about where the bottom edge of the photo hits the road on right. 
Below we are approaching end of Cul-de-Sac. 
Below we are at the very end, looking down the jeep trail that is the lot boundary.  Our lot is to the right of the jeep trail (downslope of trail).  This jeep trail enters into a series of private trails that stretch for miles, and run all the way to the top of Mount Oglethorpe (3rd highest mountain in Georgia at about 3,400 feet). Our lot is at over 2,800 feet, very close to the top.
BELOLW we have walked to far back of lot corner along this jeep trail.  The lot is now on left (downslope of the trail in photo below).  As you can see from both the above and below photos, this area just below the trail is a very gentle slope.  Down through the woods ahead left in the below photo it gets almost level, and there is a huge area for a building site.  Farther down the hill, close to the lower lot line, the lot starts dropping off very steeply again. This creates a perfect building site that offers an easy build on gentle terrain, but then as the land drops off steeply, you open up amazing views from the homesite.
Below we show a couple of views from the back of lot, showing some of the near ridgeline.  That is facing over towards the top of Mount Oglethorpe, and then pans across to the right over the Big Canoe Mountains: Toland and Cox. 
Below we show the jeep trail as it leaves our property, and heads off towards the top of the mountain.  It's not a steep walk.
Below we're going to start around the middle of the jeep trail as it borders the lot, then we are going to step into the woods, and show some interior scenes around the building site, which as we have mentioned is a very gentle terrain.
Below we show a couple of "View" photos, which is sort of a misnomer in this case since we didn't get very good photos.  2 reasons for that:  Very hazy day when we took pictures, but mostly, it is very difficult to get view photos when shooting through thick woods, because the digital camera wants to focus on the closest thing it encounters (the trees) and further blurs the distant views. 

All I can say is that the Views Are FABULOUS in real life.  You can make out a bit through the trees in below photos. At the very end we have one over a small home clearing that is a few lots down from our lot.

Below we are at edge of lot looking back at Cul-de-Sac.
Above, you can tell how open that panoramic view is as we look across the top of the lot from top of Cul-de-Sac.  Alas, we simply could not get the camera to focus on the views. 

Below we are heading out down the long level ridgeline road of Bald Eagle Bend. 
Would make a great evening stroll with views all along the ridge!!
