The modern history of Jekyll
Island is an amazing story and goes back to the 1600's, when it was owned
by Spain. In the late 1800's it was used as a Vacation Retreat by
the richest men in America. In the mid 1900's it was purchased by
the State of Georgia, and remains so today, with limited development, and
is maintained as a family vacation destination, a historic district, and
pristine unspoiled natural wildlife preserve. If you care about
stuff like this, then you'll enjoy this website. |
Below we
just started throwing in Jekyll Island Links.
Over time we hope to better organize and add to these. |
